| Olio Capitale Exhibition  On the occasion of the "Olio Capitale" exhibition, to be held on 10-12 June 2007, Fiera Trieste Spa is presenting the new "Olio Capitale" Competition, for quality extra-virgin olive oils typical of their regions of production in the Mediterranean area. The prize, promoted and sponsored by Fiera Trieste Spa and organised in collaboration with the weekly internet magazine "Teatro Naturale", aims to raise the profile of quality extra-virgin olive oils of the Mediterranean area, strengthening their image, especially on foreign markets, and offering the production chain an opportunity for positive competition than can lead to improvement in oil quality and enhance the product's image.The following may be presented as entries to the Competition: all extra-virgin olive oils obtained from processing olives in the 2006/07 oil production season, and produced in countries on the Mediterranean, whatever the provenance of the olives or the oil obtained, without prejudice. Those who may enter the Competition are olive-growers who produce their own oil; olive press enterprises that work, package and commercialise oil; oil-producing co-operatives and organisations of producers; bottling and packaging enterprises that can guarantee the provenance of the oil presented at the Competition through suitable documentation. The Competition is divided into three categories light intensity; medium intensity; intense intensity; Panels of judges, established for the purpose and nominated by the Coordinating Committee, may make honourable mentions; the decisions of the Panels are final. The Coordinating Committee will be given the samples of extra-virgin olive oil, then assign each a code, to ensure that these samples remain anonymous; it will also set up a Panel comprising technical specialists and experts in virgin and extra-virgin olive oils.
