| The Daily Telegraph/House & Garden Fair 2007 The Daily Telegraph / House & Garden Fair 2007 is the UK's most prestigious event for interior and garden design will be held from Wednesday 27th - Saturday 30th June 2007. From bathrooms to bedrooms, gourmet food to garden furniture, the Fair brings you an unprecedented line up of exhibitors all carefully handpicked by House & Garden to ensure the highest quality products, most of which you will not find on the High Street. For anyone passionate about interiors and gardens, the Fair is an excellent opportunity to see the very latest classic and contemporary designs from many of the country's most prominent designers. Highlights of the 2007 Fair include: Putting quality British furniture design and manufacture at the heart of this new collection – ISOS is a range of products that combine affordability with the best in contemporary styling. Featuring the work of some of the best designers currently working in the UK, including Tomoko Azumi, Max Lamb, Tom Price, Mark Gabbertas and Junior Phipps, the collection of lighting, mirrors, dining and occasional tables, cabinets, rugs, sofa and armchair come in a range of sympathetic natural materials including woods, glass, felted wool and tweed. All pieces are made to order and can be tailored to suit the individual's requirements. This collection will be shown for the first time at the Daily Telegraph/House & Garden Fair. 'The John Cullen Light House' has been designed to show how lighting can dramatically transform a space, and to provide specific, practical ideas and inspiration for effectively lighting a home in the 21st century – complete colour changing lights, dynamic effects and two room sets, as well as energy-efficient solutions, which are increasingly important in our environmentally conscious world. The KLC School of Design, a world-renowned institute for interior and garden design training, presents interactive workshops at the Fair. Covering a variety of subjects, including training sessions on colour and style or the use of schemes and concepts, the various workshops are sure to suit all interests. Like a floral mobile in the sky, Todd Longstaffe-Gowan has imagined and created a three-dimensional garden comprised of giant floating shapes. These spheres and discs hang from the ceiling of the Grand Hall creating clouds of plants for visitors to mingle between, below and beyond. Meanwhile, inspired by the dramatic movement, rich colours and the strong contrasts of Baroque architecture, Richard Miers has used symmetry and a central axis as the main basis for his stunning garden design, with a wide avenue of scented shrubs, twin paths and a central border. Bigger and better than 2006, Henrietta Green's FoodLovers' Fair is back with an astounding and outstanding selection of fine local and regional food and drinks. Each exhibitor's products have been highly vetted and proven to live up to the highest standards, making this Fair a showcase of the best of British delicacies. Also launching at the Fair will be the FoodLovers Club – with exclusive membership offers available. Showing at the Fair for the first time, Rhapsody House, an independent art gallery based in Royal Tunbridge Wells specialises in original contemporary works in a wide range of styles, from figurative realist painting, to abstract, landscapes, nudes and sculptures – and with an average price of £1, 000. Rhapsody House will also 'place' art in the home for clients who require guidance and 'lend' art to clients who are unsure: "Our philosophy is seeing art not in isolation but as an integral part of living, " say directors Beverley Rouwen and Stella Hayes. Bodie and Fou created a storm at last year's Fair and returns with a new impressive line-up of unique and contemporary designer home ware including the Paulistano chair by 2006's Pritzker Prize for Architecture winner Paulo Mendes da Rocha and Flavia del Pra's flamboyant one-off piece lamps. Passionate about great design and interior decoration, French sisters Elodie (Bodie) and Karine (Fou) excel in spotlighting up-and-coming designers – such as Oromono and Ole Jensen – for people who won't compromise their sense of style in the home. Farrow & Ball, the industry's most environmentally friendly paints, have enlisted international colour consultant, Joa Studholme, to host 'Colour in the Home' – an inspirational talk on how to transform your home. The talk combines inspirational ideas with helpful tips, providing visitors with the confidence to make informed colour choices and take the worry out of that all important, often overwhelming decision of home decoration. Farrow & Ball will also be launching a new wallpaper collection, 'The Ranelagh Papers', an adaptation of an elegant neoclassical wallpaper design. Roast Designs is a small company which designs and hand makes distinctive, contemporary chandeliers from individually blown glass spheres. The effect is stunning, modern and completely unique: each piece of glass is different so no two chandeliers can ever be the same. When lit, the chandeliers produce a gorgeous light and cast fabulous shadows around the walls and ceilings. The chandeliers look just as good unlit, becoming beautiful glass sculptures. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
