| Tadilat Istanbul 2007 When the building stock requiring to be renovated climbs over one million in 10 years, renovation trend will be a specialised field in building industry. The pioneers of this new trend in building industry will meet the first time in Tadilat Istanbul Fair. The event which will take place in Istanbul Expo Center between the dates 7 – 10 June 2007, will be organized by German Fair Organizator Messe München and Yapex Exhibitions' organization Akdeniz Tanitim. The need for renovation in the building stock of cities has started a new trend: Renovation. In the modernization phase of cities, a major part of the building stock needs to be renovated due to historical and physical obsolescence and even as a consequence to natural disasters such as earthquakes. With its historical background and worn buildings, Istanbul has become a city that gives importance to renovation culture. After establishment of institutions abroad such as Housing Renovation Centers and Building Renovation Guides, parallel developmets were reflected to Istanbul; some urban renovation projects were initiated in some districts and municipality renovation areas were determined. Workshops related to renovation of buildings in the city were organized, and during the researches sustainability concept was emphasized. Finally renovation became a separate branch in the building industry. Renovation, which defines a different area of specialization after the separation of building industry into two branches "construction" and "renovation", fulfils three different requirements in the buildings: restoration, reinforcement and renovation.
