| Your Baby Show THOUSANDS of pregnant women are expected to gather at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, northern Joburg, when the annual Your Baby Show attempts to set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of pregnant women under one roof. The Your Baby Show runs from Thursday, 17 May to Sunday, 20 May. Shows will also be held in Durban and Cape Town later this year, where attempts will be made to beat Joburg's record. Over 2 000 pregnant women have already signed up for the attempt, according to a press release from the organisers. The Your Baby Show exhibition director, Projeni Pather, came up with the idea of setting the world record. The baby show aims to make mothering an informed and more fulfilling experience. Pather has two young children. Over the past years the show had proven to be the largest and most successful baby and parenting event in Africa, Pather said. It is aimed at pregnant women and new parents, offering information, goods and services, with over 200 exhibitors attending. Entertainment is also laid on for children under six, with personal appearances by Barney, the purple dinosaur much loved by small children. It is essential to book for the Barney shows; tickets are available at Computicket. The 20-minute shows will be run daily, starting at 10am on Thursday and Friday and at 3.30pm on Saturday. Besides the largest gathering of pregnant women, expect nappy change rooms; mini-parenting workshops; free mini-manicures at Sally Hansen nail bars; and neck and shoulder massages at the Johnson's Baby Indulgence Zone. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
