| The Inaugural Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition The inaugural Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition and Forum 2007 (BRIDEX 2007) will be held at the International Convention Centre from May 31 to June 2. The event will be launched by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, according to a press release. BRIDEX 2007 will gather over 90 exhibitors including a number of leading manufacturers from 17 countries such as Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, UK and US. The main aim of the exhibition is to provide a venue for defence manufacturers and suppliers, regionally and globally, to exhibit and promote their latest products. It is also to explore the potential of establishing defence business ventures and developing the local defence industry. Meanwhile, the forum is aimed at creating an interactive discussion among experts, government officials, academicians and the private sector on selected topics related to defence and security. A total of 13 international speakers will be presenting talks during the two-day forum. The speakers are from renowned international defence conglomerates including: Northrop Grumman; General Dynamics; BAE Systems; Defence Export Service of United Kingdom (DESO); SAAB; Kestral Holdings of Pakistan; Vosper Technologies; Lockheed Martin; Stemcor; and, Blenheim Capital Services.
