| Traffex, The International Event for Transport Design, Management Traffex, the international event for transport design, management and maintenance of traffic and highway infrastructure is giving prominence to passive safety with its own dedicated zone. Traffex, which is co-located with Parkex International at Birmingham's NEC from 17th-19th April, will feature a custom designed passive safety zone. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness vehicle crash tests first hand, via a series of specially recorded films that will highlight the importance of passive safety products when designing safer roads for the future. The specialist zone will feature experts as David Milne, author of the original HA advice note TA89/04; Andrew Pledge, Managing Director of The Passive Revolution Ltd; Andrew Sanders, Street Lighting Team Manager - Mott MacDonald, Alistair Gollop, Signals Team, Mott MacDonald and Richard Boswell, Road Safety and Signing Team Manager - InterRoute who will all be available to discuss and debate implementing passive safety at the roadside. In addition to these debates, visitors to the exhibition will be able to see a mock up of a street scene featuring cars, posts and barriers used in a crash demonstration. This will give visitors the chance to examine the damage that can result when unyielding objects are struck at speed, and to consider for themselves the likely injuries that would have resulted had there been anyone in these vehicles. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
