Fine Food Perth

The food and hospitality industry in Western Australia will come together from 25-27 March at the Perth Convention Centre for the second Fine Food Perth exhibition. Fine Food is an exhibition just for the trade. It features hundreds of exhibitors with the latest food, drink and equipment ideas for supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, hotels, pubs and clubs. The show has run for many years on the East Coast. A regional show was launched in Perth in 2005 at the same time as the new exhibition centre. It was an immediate success and is now scheduled to run every second year.

According to Exhibition Director Timothy Collett "the market in Perth is booming and companies are keen to meet and exchange ideas. This show is ideally placed to bring together all the serious buyers and sellers in the food and hospitality sectors".

Food companies booked in for the show include well known national brands such as McCains, Sanitarium, Patties, Sealord, Goodman Fielder, Dairy Farmers and Riviana. Local identities include Mrs Macs, The Cookie Barrel, Anchor Foods, Jingilli Olive Oil, Olio Bello, Danish Patisserie and Cambinata Yabbies.

Companies booked into the equipment section represent all the major product categories - from the shopfront to the kitchen to the tabletop. They include Comcater, Caterlink, Stoddart, Bake Quip, JL Lennard, Lenny's, Hisco, IMI Cornelius, Palmteq and Furniture Options.

One of the great features of the event is that it pulls together a number of industry associations and exhibitions that previously ran separately. This means that the show offers a one-stop shop for the entire industry.

The popular WA Oceanafest will run within the show. This is the only chef competition in Australia that is formally recognised by the World Association of Cooks. It will feature seven kitchens, three restaurants and hundreds of qualified competitors.

The Wine Industry Association of WA will be running their wine showcase within Fine Food. This means that buyers can sample a wide range of wines and speak to the producers directly about their special needs. This is a great opportunity for restaurants and hotels to build a profitable wine list.
