| Thaifex - World of Food Asia 2007  The fourth Thaifex — World of Food Asia will be held in the Impact Exhibition Center in Bangkok from 23rd to 27th May 2007. In addition to further growth in the numbers of exhibitors and visitors at the upcoming Thaifex — World of Food Asia, the organisers are also expecting the fair's international scope to increase once again. What's more, the expertise presented at the fair will also surpass that of previous events. Thaifex — World of Food Asia is being organised by Koelnmesse GmbH in cooperation with the Department of Export Promotion (DEP) and the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC).The fair's product range comprises food and drinks, food technology, catering, franchise systems, and hotel and restaurant supplies. The attractions at Thaifex will include a Procurement Centre programme, an accompanying congress programme and cooking demonstrations and seminars. The Organic Food and Halal Food product groups will be presented 3 in special exhibition areas. Recent studies show that trade in organic food products is growing steadily worldwide. As the spectrum of available products is becoming increasingly diverse, the number of dealers is rising. And logistics and delivery conditions are also improving. This ongoing growth in demand means that food producers worldwide are becoming more interested in providing organic items. The special exhibition area at Thaifex — World of Food Asia will feature new products and companies with a strong commitment to organic food. Once again, more than 90 companies will be presenting halal food products in Bangkok. What's more, the Islamic Committee of Thailand and the Thai Department of Export Promotion are jointly organising seminars and a special exhibition area (Special Halal Exhibition). Recently published reports confirm that there is continual growth in the demand for halal food products — even on the part of non-Muslim consumers.
