| The SIAL Montréal 2007 International Food Exhibition A world of food discoveries is being prepared for the 4th edition of the SIAL Montréal 2007 International Food Exhibition, the trade show that attracts agri-food professionals from all over the world. The event is being hosted at the Palais des congrès de Montréal convention center from March 28 to 30, 2007. A total of 200, 000 sq. ft. will be shared by over 750 exhibitors from 40 countries and 18, 000 agri-food industry professionals from 80 countries. SIAL Montréal breaks new ground with this 4th edition of the show with three new platforms designed to meet the demand of agri-food professionals looking for the next breakthrough product or trend. Eighty-three percent of the exhibition floor is already booked! France, Italy, Greece, Pakistan, the U.S., Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and Brazil have confirmed they'll be exhibiting and setting up pavilions representing their respective countries. The show is also welcoming first time exhibitors from China, Malaysia, Mexico, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong. Turkey, Thailand, India, Vietnam and Japan have also expressed an interest in participating. The competition is open to all extra virgin olive oils with less than 0.8% oleic acid. It is being supervised by the "International Olive Oil Council". Nine "Goutte d'Or", "Goutte d'Argent" and "Goutte de Bronze" awards will be presented in the following categories: light fruit flavor, medium fruit flavor and strong fruit flavor. The "Goutte d'Or" winners will be announced during the award ceremony scheduled as part of the Canadian Agrifood Export Gala organized by Export Group Quebec-Canada. The 100 Innovative Products Showcase offers exhibitors the opportunity to compete for the Novitas Award, introduced for the first time by SIAL Montréal to recognize new product excellence. The jury will be composed of 15 well-known members of the agrifood community.
