| SIFER 2007 An increased focus on the rail infrastructure market and the provision of tracks within the exhibition hall will be among the new features at SIFER 2007 trade show, which takes place in Lille, France, from 12 to 14 June 2007. And for the first time, a second hall has been reserved at the Lille Grand Palais exhibition centre to accommodate demand for stand space at the show. Among firms that have already reserved stands at SIFER 2007 are Strail, suppliers of level crossing systems, diesel engine manufacturer MTU Friedrichshafen, Spanish vehicle maintenance specialist and train-builder Talgo and leading power and control systems supplier Schneider Electric. Demand for stand space has been strong, with bookings having already accounted for around 50 per cent of the space taken at the last show in 2005. SIFER 2007 has the support of both French National Railways (SNCF) and of the French Railways Infrastructure Authority (RFF), both of which will be taking stands at the show. The exhibition also has the support of I-Trans, selected and backed by the French government under its pole de compétitivité programme to establish its member companies and institutions in the north of the country as Europe's leading centre for railway technology and innovative transport systems. SIFER is France's only regular trade show dedicated exclusively to the rail industry. The 2007 event will be the fifth in an increasingly successful series of exhibitions presenting the latest in railway technology and equipment. SIFER 2005 was attended by nearly 3, 000 industry professionals from 43 countries, with 260 exhibitors from 18 countries taking part. Seminar programmes by leading industry bodies were also held during the show period, attracting senior figures and decision-makers and confirming the growing role of SIFER as a major meeting point for the entire rail industry in France. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
