| British Travel Trade Fair More than 250 overseas travel and tourism professionals have already signed up to VisitBritain's Hosted Buyer programme for British Travel Trade Fair 2007 – three full months before the exhibition. The exhibition is to be held on March 13 and 14 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. Britain's biggest business-to-business event for the domestic and inbound tourism industry, BTTF 2007 is organised on behalf of VisitBritain by Reed Travel Exhibitions. The UK's new Approved Destination Status has attracted more than 30 participants from China and Hong Kong; a further 40-plus will be flying in from Russia and eastern Europe; and VisitBritain is anticipating a sizeable turnout from the Indian subcontinent. These countries have been identified as offering particularly strong potential for future growth. BTTF, which is the centrepiece of the new British Tourism Week, attracts around 2, 500 travel and tourism professionals each year, with 400-plus exhibitors showcasing the very latest products and services. The event is estimated to generate around £30 million worth of business. More than 300 overseas buyers attended BTTF 2006, but event director Ann-Marie Meaney is confident that figure will be surpassed in 2007. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
