Automechanika Asia - Asia's International Automotive Trade Fair

Automechanika Asia will take place in a new venue for 2007, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia's most modern event facility. In the same way that Automechanika in Frankfurt is the automotive supplies industry's biggest biennial gathering, the Asian version of the show has similarly established itself as the ASEAN region's leading business forum for the automotive OE and aftermarket sector. Scheduled for 29 March - 1 April, it will house a full range of auto parts & components, accessories & tuning products, and repair & maintenance equipment; one of the most comprehensive product offerings in the region.

The fair is jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, who over the past four years have promoted Automechanika Asia extensively as part of the Malaysian Government's initiative to further develop the automotive industry in Malaysia and across the ASEAN region.

The 2007 show is shaping up for the same degree of success. Over 120 companies from 16 countries & regions have already signed up to participate, and a full programme of special events and exhibits will support the fair, making Automechanika Asia stand out as an authoritative industry event. These include the Automechanika Academy and Product Presentations.

One of the most exciting events at this year's show will be the "SACHS National Mechanics Challenge", organised and sponsored by ZF South East Asia Pte., designed to highlight the skills and capabilities of mechanics in Malaysia.

The main driver of the growth in vehicle sales has been the strong economic development seen right across the region, which has dramatically increased purchasing power for both businesses and individual consumers. GDP growth in Asian countries is expected to maintain a CAGR of over 5% in the next five years, while China, South Korea and India are expected to have growth rates of over 10%. Low per capita levels of car ownership across the region coupled with the new Free Trade Agreements in place have created an environment rich in potential for the auto and automotive aftermarket industries.
