MSE Seafood and Processing 2007

The expo, being held from February 10th to 13th 2007 will be held in the Rimini expo centre and will occupy halls B1 and B2, featuring approximately 130 companies specialized in fresh and frozen products ready for consumption in the HoReCa and large-scale distribution channels.

Good growth is reported for the 6th edition of the Mediterranean Seafood Exhibition, the show dedicated to the seafood chain and organized by Rimini Fiera in partnership with US firm DBC, world leader in the organization of trade fairs dedicated to seafood.

The fundamental peculiarity of MSE is its international profile, with approximately 50% of the exhibitors coming from abroad who, as well as purely exhibiting activity, will be involved in a calendar of workshops and Ôone to one´ meetings with trade members.

Precisely the international format of the seafood world, with a fundamental accent on the Mediterranean and therefore the key role of an event like MSE 2007, is borne out by a study that clarifies how the Mediterranean as a seafood business area is continually expanding, registering 2.2 million tons of production and 16.2 kilos eaten per capita. Catches at sea and in inland waters total 1.3 million tons, while aquaculture figures alone show an overall production of 880, 000 tons.

At the MSE, considerable space will also be dedicated to projects led by the Emilia-Romagna Regional Government, a key player in numerous initiatives supporting the Northern Adriatic fishing system, which will announce the latest initiatives being prepared at the show.
