| 13th Annual WCA International Symposium & Business Expo With municipal wireless as a major focus of the 13th Annual WCA International Symposium & Business Expo, the Wireless Communications Association International will host the WCA Smart Valley Showcase on Jan. 19 in San Jose, CA at the Fairmont Hotel. The half-day summit will feature advanced broadband applications that will benefit 42 entities and 2.4 million people throughout the Silicon Valley region. The WCA Smart Valley Showcase will follow the first meeting of the Governor of California's task force for broadband wireless policy to be held on Jan. 18. Seth Fearey, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Smart Valley Network initiative, is a featured speaker for the WCA Smart Valley Showcase who will provide the vision for the kinds of advanced applications and public services that are being deployed for business and residents of the Silicon Valley area. Interested members of the public are eligible to attend the Showcase for no charge, and also to visit exhibits. The keynote address and conference sessions will focus on such hot topics as broadband wireless access to underserved populations, and the delivery of vital services to support community needs in public safety, emergency response, education, health care and intelligent transportation. Additional featured speakers include Liz Kniss, Member, Santa Clara Country Board of Supervisors and Brian Moura, Chairman, San Mateo County Telecommunications Authority (SAMCAT).
