The International Trade Fair for Plants

On 25 - 28 January, 2007, the 25th International Trade Fair for Plants will be staged at the Essen showground, becoming once again a global meeting place for professionals of the industry. The preparations are already in full swing. About 1, 400 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, who will offer trade visitors from all continents a unique overview of the world market, are again expected to take part. The presentations of each individual exhibitor in the areas of production, trade and marketing are consistently oriented towards meeting trade visitors' needs.

The two successful international offshoots, IPM CHINA and IPM DUBAI, are already showing a positive effect on the IPM ESSEN itself: more visitors and also more exhibitors from these growth markets are expected to come to Essen this time.

The increase in the number of exhibitors from 100 at the IPM ESSEN debut in 1983 to approximately 1, 400 in 2006 is an impressive testimony of continuous success in the development of this trade fair. The exhibitors have also become more and more international from year to year, and the products and services presented have been continually extended to meet the needs of the market. Today, the IPM ESSEN world fair is based on the four pillars "Plants", "Technology", "Floristry" and "Sales Promotion".

The market-oriented supporting programme also plays an important part in confirming the leading position of the IPM. Here, the focus is on future prospects and opportunities for all market participants. International shows and events visualise trends and present ideas. Forums such as the AI-Invest meeting of European and Latin American entrepreneurs, and the International Horticultural Forum for Eastern Europe, show where the potential lies and provide stimuli, counselling and start-up assistance.
