| China International Medical Equipment Fair The 56th China International Medical Equipment Fair and the 3rd ICMD China International Component Manufacturing and Design Show are expected to welcome 50, 000-plus visitors and close to 2, 000 exhibitors at the Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center located in Henan Province, China, during October 31 to November 3, 2006. Organized by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions, the CMEF and ICMD are Asia Pacific's established professional trade fairs for the medical device industry. In recognition of the strong reputation of the co-located events, the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce has certified the U.S. Pavilion. Additionally, the Office of Global Trade Programs will organize a Healthcare Technologies Trade Mission that will include stops in Zhengzhou, Beijing and Hong Kong. The Mission will target a wide range of healthcare sectors, including but not limited to medical equipment and devices; diagnostics, and the IT-healthcare sub-sector. The purpose for staging the mission at the Exhibition venue is twofold. First, mission participants gain direct exposure to top-flight co-located exhibitions wherein they can expect to meet potential Chinese agents, distributors, licensees, or joint venture partners on the exhibit floor and in the one-on-one matchmaking meetings being scheduled on October 31 and November 1.
