Gotha 2006

Gotha 2006, one of prestigious ancient art exhibitions, is set to get underway from the 4th to the 12th of November 2006 in Fiere di Parma's Palacassa venue. For around one week visitors, art fans, collectors and interior designers will be able to admire extraordinary works of art, subjected to authoritative vetting and displayed in an exhibition designed by Pier Luigi Pizzi and set against the backdrop of this ideal and truly elegant city.

Now at its eighth edition, Gotha 2006 is more than just an unmissable event for private collectors, Museum Directors and art fans: it features an extraordinary range of periods, styles and specialisations covering sculptures, panels by the great Masters, furniture and objets d'art as well as paintings, ceramics, rugs and silverware.

Just a few of the characteristics that make Gotha stand out from other antique fairs: it is biennial, meaning that antiquarians have time to carry out careful research beforehand and therefore present new works; a homogeneous set-up created by a set designer of international repute to personalise the event and therefore avoid any similarities; and the closed number of exhibitors which cannot exceed 80.

Authoritative vetting will guarantee the quality of the works on show. For the first time in Italy, experts in the various disciplines will have two whole days at their disposal in which to carefully examine the works presented; they shall then have the power to decide to remove any items not deemed suitable for the Fair. Gotha 2006 will be playing host to around 80 Italian Galleries, 70 of which have been selected from amongst the 170 enrolled in the Association of Italian Antiquarians, a highly prestigious partner that has collaborated with Fiere di Parma in redesigning the event.
