| 12th Annual Conference DNC Parks & Resorts at Yosemite (DNC), the hospitality management company that provides visitor services in Yosemite National Park, has announced they will emphasize their environmental management system, GreenPath, while hosting the Sierra Business Council's (SBC) 12th Annual Conference from November 1 through November 3 in the heart of Yosemite Valley. DNC will divert up to 70% of the waste generated during the conference by composting, recycling, and reducing product use and packaging while utilizing sustainable purchasing practices. The global tourism and convention industry now recognizes sustainable events as an established trend. Such efforts aim to conserve resources, protect air, water quality, the natural habitat and human health while showcasing sustainability practices and concerns. The SBC's vision of the Sierra Nevada's social, environmental and financial health is linked to natural resource conservation, and thus the association of economic growth with environmental sustainability is seen by both DNC and the SBC as essential to building regional wealth and prosperity for current residents and future generations. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Exhibition News :: home page |
