| The Second Annual MichBio Expo The second annual MichBio Expo announced its conference agenda for the internationally attended event held Tuesday, October 10, Wednesday, October 11 and Thursday, October 12 at the DeVos Place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Keynote Addresses - The MichBio Expo kicks off with keynotes from David Van Andel, the CEO and Chairman of the Van Andel Institute and David E. Duncan, award-winning author and co-host of NPR's Biotech Nation. The afternoon keynote features Edward C. Saltzman, President of Defined Health. Panels and Presentations - Leaders in the financial and biotechnology industries discuss current issues and cutting edge technologies. Included are The Current State of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurial Activities in Michigan. IT Software Solutions: Meeting Business Needs for the Life Sciences. Stem Cell Research: Hope or Hype, Faith or Future. The Medical Device Industry in Michigan Today and In the Future. Investing in Life Sciences: Needs, Opportunities and Priorities. Other events in the day include a full exhibition hall that showcases more than 60 of the area's most exciting life sciences leaders in finance, research, and government. Business Development Meetings, where MichBio members have the opportunity to meet, one on one, with development and procurement execs from national pharmaceutical and medical device companies, will run the length of the full day event.
