| Screen The First Time At IfraExpo 2006 This year Screen makes its debut at IfraExpo (Amsterdam 9-12 October, Hall 4, stand no: 4440), the annual exhibition dedicated to the international newspaper industry. The CTP manufacturer will be showing its new PlateRite News 2000, the specialist thermal CTP device for newspaper prepress, together with Trueflow Rite News, the automated workflow system specifically designed for newspaper production. The PlateRite News 2000's productivity is ideal for the newspaper industry, where the ability to move quickly through the production processes is critical. The platesetter features a 64-channel laser diode imaging head and images plates from 290mm x 460mm (11.4 x 18.1 in) up to a maximum plate size of 980mm x 685mm (38.6 x 26.8 inches). It can output 84 broadsheet plates or 41 double-wide plates per hour. As the volume of colour pages in newspapers continues to increase, so too has the demand for even higher levels of quality. This has led to a growth in the use of thermal plates, a trend acknowledged by IFRA who recently reported that the market share for thermal had grown to 20%. With the PlateRite News 2000, Screen provides a reliable, compact, high quality and highly productive thermal system specifically aimed at newspapers with single cylinder rotary presses. Automated plate loading and unloading for unattended operation is standard on the PlateRite News 2000 and the ability to load two broadsheet plates simultaneously further increases efficiency. In November, Screen Europe adds another level of flexibility with the launch of a new multi-cassette autoloader with full automation that will increase the productivity of the PlateRite News 2000 even further. A compact device, the multi-cassette will feature a maximum of 3 cassettes providing a capacity of up to 600 plates to be held online available to the platesetter without operator intervention. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Exhibition News :: home page |
