BPA Autumn Seminar "Seeing Red - The Blue Badge Scheme"

This one day event, which will take place Brewery, United Kingdom, on October 17, 2006, is designed to bring together parking professionals to network, debate issues, exchange ideas and keep up-to-date with the latest product and services.

An exhibition runs alongside the seminar, which provids delegates with an excellent opportunity to view the latest products and services on offer in the industry. This years seminar will be tackling the perennial debate: How successful is the Blue Badge Scheme? With 2 million Blue badges in circulation in the UK is the scheme out of control? Two BPA Groups, NW and Scotland, have been looking into the scheme to identify what works and what doesn`t.

In addition to these presentations the Head of Social Policy at the DFT will talk about the purpose of the Scheme and its intended benefits; a representative from Social services will expand on how the Scheme is administered at a local level. The day will culminate with a Forum style debate to focus the issues, identify potential solutions and deliver a Blue Badge Charter.

This Seminar is aimed at everyone interested in the delivery of services to people with special mobility needs, to people involved in the management of parking, highways, traffic and streets in general.
