Named a top 10 digital city for 12 consecutive years by the Center for Digital Government, Long Beach first deployed Opendatasoft in 2020. The new contract will see the city further develop its portal, including focusing on data-driven storytelling to increase transparency and engagement while connecting new data sources and making them available to citizens and other stakeholders. The City of Long Beach open data portal currently contains 20 datasets with over 930, 000 records. It covers areas as diverse as the status of service requests submitted via the city’s 311 reporting system, animal shelter data, employee diversity demographic information and an inventory of trees planted across the city.
