Major orders boost Strabag AG's business

Cologne-based Strabag AG successfully continued its steady growth path of previous years in the 2024 financial year. A series of major orders, particularly for the construction of cable routes for the expansion of energy networks, ensured a strong increase in order intake for the German market leader in traffic route construction.

Strabag's order intake in transportation infrastructure construction rose by 38.7 percent in the past financial year to a new record volume of around 5.2 billion (bn) euros. This primarily reflects the fact that the German industry leader is realizing power line projects for three network operating companies totaling a good 1.1 billion euros. In addition, there are newly acquired major projects such as the general refurbishment of the Hamburg-Berlin railroad line (Dergenthin - Berlin lot), the construction of the A 7 Uttrichshausen valley bridge and the replacement of the Leine and Leineflut bridges on the southern expressway in Hanover.
Strabag AG's work performance in traffic route construction rose again in 2024 to around EUR 4 billion, which represents an increase of 5.7 percent compared to the previous year. At around EUR 4.3 billion, Strabag AG's order backlog in this segment was 39.1 percent higher than the previous year's figure.
Strabag AG also employed a total of 14, 213 people in road construction as at 31 December 2024.

Strabag is optimistic that it will be able to continue the positive trend in road construction in the coming years.
