| Construction rates going down in Russia Russian developers are launching new projects less often and this fact requires special attention of authorities, President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting on economic issues. "Regrettably, the number of new projects launched by developers is declining. This fact, let me say so, requires our special attention because the construction pace directly influence housing affordability for citizens and are definitely reflected in capacity utilization of related branches, from building materials production to furniture and domestic appliances output, " the head of state said. "We have agreed to keep a close eye on the situation in housing construction and required attention should also be paid to certain other areas, " the president noted. The Russian Cabinet already made certain decisions in this regard, Putin said. "I would like to add also that the most difficult situation was registered in housing and infrastructural construction.
