| Siemens' innovative and sustainable building technology at ISH 2025 ![]() Two of the key exhibits for small and mid-sized buildings were the Wireless Plug and Play Automation Bundle and Connect Box. Designed to decrease operational costs and CO₂ emissions, the comprehensive and easy-to-deploy Wireless Plug and Play solution supports installers. Through harnessing a mix of cloud technology, edge computing and wireless devices they can automate assets without requiring engineering skills. By incorporating devices such as the wireless radiator actuator, the system eliminates the need for complex wiring, significantly lowering both installation costs and time. This allows for easier and faster implementation, fostering a quicker path to achieve energy efficiency. The IoT-based building automation system, Connect Box, integrates with existing building management software or other cloud-based applications, supporting a setup that is operational within only a few hours. It enhances building efficiency through its capability to manage multiple standards in one system. Connect Box communicates in 11 protocols and supports more than 1,000 devices from around 150 different manufacturers. Through its extensive database, it offers alarm notifications, historical trend visualizations, and other meaningful insights to optimize building operations. Tackling the specific challenges of high-performing buildings, the comprehensive Desigo building automation system offers advanced solutions for demanding applications across industries such as data centers or pharma and life science. With scalable, open building management and automation devices, Desigo maximizes performance levels of existing assets and complex infrastructures, while providing high security standards through its native BACnet Secure Connect capabilities. Another central exhibit is Building X, which provides a foundation for all types of buildings, independent of their size. The digital building platform supports customers to achieve energy goals while reducing operational costs through its Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled applications, driving towards sustainable, autonomous, and profitable buildings. The latest version integrates Generative AI capabilities, delivering instant and accurate answers to user queries. By providing access to documentation such as help guides and data sheets, users can complete tasks more efficiently. Building X is part of Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform that enables customers to accelerate their digital transformation easier, faster and at scale. "Today, 75 percent of buildings are not managed as efficiently as they could be. Connectivity, digitalization and AI enable us to make buildings more efficient and sustainable, and ultimately pave the way to human-centric, fully autonomous infrastructure. Connectivity mandates high levels of cybersecurity – and here Siemens is really a frontrunner," said Emma Falck, Executive Vice President, Product, Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings. "Our innovations set the stage for a future where buildings of any kind and size are capable of meeting tomorrow's challenges head-on." write your comments about the article :: © 2025 Construction News :: home page |
