GaLaBau 2022: eager anticipation of industry reunion

The 24th round of GaLaBau, the leading international fair for urban green and open spaces, that will take place at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 14 to 17 September 2022. Around 1,100 exhibiting companies, service providers and organisations from 34 countries will showcase their innovations in 14 exhibition halls of GaLaBau 2022. The theme of the trade fair is "Working together for a climate-friendly future": The Green-Blue Path at the venue puts the spotlight on various approaches and ideas relating to climate protection. At the exhibitor stands, but also in the accompanying supporting programme, visitors will find about new and innovative products and solutions for gardening, landscaping and the construction and maintenance of sports grounds, playgrounds and golf courses.

The Green-Blue Path points the way to a climate-friendly future!
The expansion of green infrastructure in cities, increase in suitable tree populations, development of climate-resilient plants and proliferation of sustainable, resource-conserving garden concepts are all crucial to meeting the challenges of climate change. In this context, the gardening and landscaping sector is already making a substantial contribution. To gain a deeper understanding of these issues, the gardening and landscaping community is joining forces in Nuremberg for the first time under a specific theme: "Working together for a climate-friendly future". This key theme for GaLaBau 2022 plays a pivotal role in the entire trade fair action and takes shape on site as the Green-Blue Path. Flags are used to designate the corresponding areas and the stands of those exhibitors showing relevant solutions. There are also pointers in the printed exhibition catalogue, the online exhibitor and product database, and the trade fair app. Additional elements of the Green-Blue Path include the presentations in the various forums and other programme items about creating a climate-friendly future.

Extensive GaLaBau supporting programme
Gain knowledge, network and help shape the future

Alongside the large product range on display, GaLaBau once again offers an attractive supporting programme. The day before the fair, numerous vendors of motorised equipment and power tools will gather for their very own forum and workshop "Motorised equipment specialists in conversation". The BGL will have a dedicated area in Hall 3A on the theme "The future of green living spaces". This is also the venue for the GaLaBau Expert Forum, which invites gardening and landscaping professionals to hear 15-minute TED-style talks and presentations on various topics like domestic gardens, public green spaces, regulations and standards, and business management and get involved in the subsequent discussions.

The young talent area GaLaBau CAMP offers young landscape gardeners the opportunity to find out about their career prospects, just like the new GaLaBau online and on-site jobs board.

NEW: Digitalisation@GaLaBau – Digital practice live in action
The Digitalisation@GaLaBau Forum will make its debut at GaLaBau 2022. More than 30 presentations and four expert panels will show the positive impacts of digitalisation on a company's efficiency and productivity. Practitioners from the gardening and landscaping sector present digital strategies and solutions that they have implemented successfully.

Spotlight on playgrounds, golf and tree care
Alongside its new features, GaLaBau 2022 will also feature established formats from previous years. There will be a special show on the theme "Playgrounds are of systemic importance!" Also included are the GaLaBau Landscape Talks, which will be devoted to knowledge transfer on issues like "Playground safety" or "Movement in the city". Landscape architects and designers can look forward to practice-driven presentations about the opportunities for the green towns of the future.

Once again, GaLaBau has plenty to offer golf course managers and greenkeepers. At the "Meeting Point Golf" hub, they will find a comprehensive display of machinery and equipment for lawn maintenance, seeds, substrates, and innovative watering systems from exhibitors specialising in the construction, maintenance and management of golf courses.

In the Tree Care Live zone, professional arboriculture specialists, tree climbers and anyone else interested in this field can learn more about the needs of the tree in presentations with tips and suggestions on tree care, product demonstrations and discussions. Interested visitors can once again look forward to live demonstrations of "tree climbing" on a special rig.

Outdoor highlights: Landscape Gardeners Cup and demonstration areas
In 2022, this Germany-wide skills competition will once again take place on the GaLaBau lawns. On 15 and 16 September, the best landscape gardening trainees from all German states will come together to put their professional expertise to the test in a bid to become part of the "German Championship Team".

The demonstration area around the Silbersee lake in Dutzendteich park will once more be a central gathering point for live demonstrations of maintenance and earth-moving machinery on real lawns and soil. And of course, visitors are welcome to try out some excavating, digging or clipping for themselves. As a new feature of the demonstration zones, electric mobility is a key element of the Green-Blue Path and is concentrated around Audi’s “world-first” charging hub on the exhibition grounds. On the test track, visitors will be able to see the potential of e-mobility live in action with demonstrations of newly developed construction and maintenance machinery and electric-powered municipal vehicles.
