| Exponatec Cologne – International trade fair for museums, conservation and cultural heritage The trade world will once again finally meet in Cologne in the autumn of 2021 for the 10th edition of Exponatec Cologne. The years 2020 and 2021 have confronted cultural institutions and their partners with unprecedented challenges: the cultural institutions remain closed in many places, exhibitions have had to be postponed or transferred to the digital realm, as is also the case with academic teaching and training. Nonetheless, time does not stand still in the culture and training institutions. Restoration and conservation projects, for example, are being tirelessly advanced, if also under more difficult conditions. Many museums are thus using the time with few visitors to restructure collections, carry out upkeep work or undertake renovations. Research and teaching continue to take place, and professional exchanges also remain possible at a distance thanks to digital technology. Nonetheless, the wish of the trade world to once again encounter one another intensively and personally is great. The dates for the biennial Exponatec Cologne, International trade fair for museums, conservation and cultural heritage, which takes place from 17 to 19 November 2021, are therefore ideal for once again bringing the museum and conservation industry together at an international and professionally excellent level. This is expressed in, among other things, the applications that have already been received from all exhibition segments with a high degree of international participation. They encompass the segments of exhibition design, media, restoration and conservation, as well as security and transport, not to mention the themes of administrative needs, entrance and exit areas, building and exhibition technology, new building and refurbishment, public relations and continuing training. New offering segments such as, for example, "museum shop" are also represented. Exponatec Cologne is also framed this year by a high quality congress and event programme that is being developed in line with the previous events of proven cooperation partners. These include national and international museum associations, universities and professional organisations like the Deutscher Museumsbund (German museum association), the Verband der Restauratoren (Association of restorers), as well as Bund Heimat und Umwelt in Deutschland (Association for habitat and environment in Germany). The specialised programme of Exponatec Cologne once again underlines the special quality of the trade fair as an information and communication platform, as well as its importance for international networking and the transfer of knowledge. Exponatec Cologne also takes place parallel with the two art fairs Art Cologne and Cologne Fine Art & Design, which are scheduled from 17 to 21 November 2021. This constellation results in additional synergies for the exhibitors and visitors of these trade fairs. In November 2021, Cologne will become a meeting point for the museum and conservation industries, as well as for those interested in art and art experts, with a charisma radiating far beyond Germany. write your comments about the article :: © 2021 Construction News :: home page |
