Future Meets Past in GE’s Vintage LED Bulb Offering

Consumers wanting to bring the look of Edison-era bulbs home can now achieve that same vintage look more efficiently in even more places throughout the home. GE added more than 30 new vintage LED options to its portfolio, including options featuring an eye-catching spiral LED filament, clear or amber glass, and shapes and sizes for most every socket of the home. "Vintage bulbs have been growing in popularity in restaurants and hotels over the past few years, and they continue to grow in popularity at home, especially with the rise in clear glass fixtures and open designs that show off decorative bulbs," says Brandie Basalla, Senior Product Manager, GE Lighting.

"Consumers love the vintage look so much that they want to move it past the chandelier or the pendant in the kitchen to more applications throughout the home, while also benefitting from the energy-saving benefits of LED without compromising aesthetics."

In response, GE is offering a variety of vintage LED shapes for the most-used fixtures throughout the home, from a traditional A19 bulb to the more elongated ST19 bulb, to globes, flame shapes and tubes. There are both straight-stick and decorative spiral filament options available in a traditional amber glass or a clear class that displays more of the filament in an unlit state.
