Two Atkins-designed projects scoop international property awards

Two Atkins-designed projects were under the spotlight at the International Property Awards 2017. The supertall Landmark 81 in Ho Chi Minh City won "best residential high-rise architecture Vietnam" and the Vinhomes Metropolis won "Best Residential High-rise Development Vietnam". Both projects were also nominated to represent Asia Pacific to compete with the winning projects from other regions for the international award later this year.

Ian Milne, Atkins' design director for Landmark 81, represented Atkins at the award ceremony in Bangkok. He said:

"The International Property Awards celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry. As the architect for the Landmark 81 and Vinhome Metropolis, it is a tremendous recognition to Atkins' capability in creating architectural icons that define the identity of cities."

"As Asia's urbanisation rapidly continues and the urban population emerges, both Landmark 81 and Vinhomes Metropolis are great examples to demonstrate the potential for high-rise living. Creating high-quality and convenient vertical living space on limited footprint can be the sustainable and attractive solutions for the region."

It is not the first time for the Atkins-designed multiple award winning Landmark 81 to shine at the International Property Awards. In International Property Awards 2016, the project won " best residential high-rise development Asia Pacific" and " best international residential high-rise development".

At an expected height of 460m, the Landmark 81 will be the tallest building in Vietnam, adding a new iconic beacon to Ho Chi Minh City's ever growing skyline. Construction started in 2015 with completion set for 2017.
