Skanska builds apartments in Helsinki, Finland

Skanska has signed an agreement with the Helsinki Housing Production Department ATT to build 189 apartments in Helsinki, Finland. The contract is worth EUR 38M, about SEK 360M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the second quarter of 2017.

The three parts of the housing project will together form a block called Gustaf Wilhelm. The buildings will mainly be 6 stories high. In the center of the block, there will be an underground parking facility on top of which there will be a courtyard. The project includes common facilities, such as saunas, as well as two commercial facilities. With apartments subsidized by the City of Helsinki and the State of Finland, it will be located in Sompasaari, Kalasatama. The area has excellent connections by public transport and will be located near a large shopping and service center.

The construction works on all the three phases of the project will be commenced on 1 June 2017 and completed at the end of November 2019.
