| Ferrovial awarded contract for HS2 enabling works in United Kingdom Ferrovial, through its subsidiary Ferrovial Agroman, in joint venture with Morgan Sindall and BAM Nutall as FUSION, has been selected by HS2 Ltd to complete £300m worth of enabling works on HS2, the UK's new 225 kilometres high speed line between London and Birmingham. Amey, a subsidiary of Ferrovial, will support Ferrovial Agroman in the delivery of the enabling works. The Central Section, awarded to Ferrovial Agroman, is 100 kilometres in length and will run all the way between Birmingham Airport and the outskirts of London. The full scope of activities will include – utility diversions, ecology and environmental surveys, archaeology, establishing site compounds, site clearance, demolition, ground remediation, watercourse activities, monitoring and instrumentation, structural reinforcements and drainage as well as the construction and rebuilding, realignment and closure of highways. This phase will begin in early 2017.
