| Xiamen International Trade Group orders Otis elevators for residential projects  Xiamen International Trade Group (Xiamen ITG) has ordered 169 Otis elevators for its high-end residential projects now under development in China's southeastern Fujian province. Otis, the world's leading manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways, is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).Founded in 1980, Xiamen ITG is one of China's top 100 real estate enterprises. It specializes in high-end projects, including the Xiamen ITG Top Mansion, Hefei ITG Top Mansion and Nanchang ITG Top Mansion. Under the agreement, Otis Elevator (China) Co. Ltd ("Otis China") will provide 163 Gen2 elevators and six SKY elevators for Xiamen ITG. The Otis Gen2 elevator uses innovative polyurethane-coated steel belts, which make the system more compact and efficient and give it a working life that is three times longer than systems that use conventional steel ropes. Gen2 elevators also incorporate ReGen drive technology for energy savings up to 75 percent under normal operating conditions compared to traditional elevator systems with conventional drives.
