| A golden hat trick for 'Considerate Constructor' Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald The Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald (BBMM) Area 4 team has scooped the Gold Considerate Constructor Award for the third year running from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), an independent organization which monitors companies against a robust Code of Considerate Practice. The Area 4 team, which operates and maintains a network of motorways and key trunk roads in Kent, Sussex and small parts of Surrey and Hampshire for Highways England, scored well beyond statutory requirements in all areas. The team, which also received the Runners-up awardfor the 'best of the best' Most Considerate Company, were commended by CCS for their forward looking approach and continual search for new ways of working which benefit the workforce, environment and potentially the entire industry. Considerate Constructors Scheme Chief Executive Edward Hardy said: "The Scheme is delighted to recognise the great achievements that the 2015 National Company Award winners have made. "Over 600 companies register with the Scheme every year and this year's competition to win an award was tougher than ever – with companies increasing their standards and performance to the next level. "With such high demand for construction activity across the UK, it's paramount that the industry works collaboratively and continues to raise standards." Tim Lyver, Highways England Service Delivery Team Leader for Area 4 said: "We congratulate Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald on receiving the Gold Company Award for the third year in a row and for being identified as the overall runner up in the national Considerate Contractors Scheme. The safety of road users and roadworkers, minimising disruption and keeping the public informed while carrying out important maintenance work are all key for Highways England." Christine Allen, Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald Area 4 Contract Director, said: "We have an engaged and empowered team in Area 4 who set high standards and work with our delivery partners to keep our team and the public safe. This recognition is great a reflection of the relentless effort of the whole community that BBMM has built." Only four companies have ever achieved three or more Gold awards since the awards began in 1997.
