Ramboll acquires Projectus Team to strengthen its building services in Finland

Ramboll Group has acquired Projectus Team Oy, one of Finland's leading consultants in intelligent building solutions. The acquisition adds 130 experts within mechanical, electrical and plumbing services (MEP) to Ramboll and strengthens the company's position as the leading engineering consultancy in Finland.

The acquisition is part of Ramboll's strategic ambition to be the leading engineering consultancy in the Nordic core markets Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. It adds 130 experts within heating, ventilating and air conditioning as well as electrical design to the company, bringing the number of employees in Finland to over 2,000. Ramboll now has 13,000 employees globally.

"The importance of intelligent building solutions is growing both in new construction and renovation projects as buildings become more and more technically advanced and energy efficiency requirements become increasingly stringent, " says Jens-Peter Saul, CEO of the Ramboll Group. "With the acquisition we double our specialists within mechanical, electrical and plumbing services in Finland and will be able to serve our clients in increasingly extensive and challenging construction projects, " says Jens-Peter Saul.

MEP services include temperature control, ventilation, water supply, electricity, control, lighting, telecommunication, security and building management system technologies.

Founded in 1992, Projectus Team is a pioneer in the development of electrical engineering, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems in Finland. The company specialises in providing building services and energy solutions for shopping centres, hotels and demanding renovation projects. Projectus Team's expertise is currently being used in major construction projects such as the Helsinki Olympic Stadium, Helsinki Central Library and new facilities of the Amos Anderson Art Museum, the biggest private art museum in Finland.

During the last five years Ramboll has grown into Finland's leading engineering consultancy, doubling the revenue and headcount in Finland while delivering high profitability in a tough market. In 2014 Ramboll acquired a significant part of Pöyry's buildings and construction management businesses in Finland and added more than 450 new experts to the organisation.
