| New Dielectric Mirror a good reflection on Guardian  Guardian Dielectric Mirror is now available in the UK and Ireland, offering a new dimension to modern design. Developed and produced by Guardian Industries Glass Group this product serves a dual purpose: It can function as a traditional mirror, while effectively masking a television or display screen that can be mounted behind it. However, when that electronic device is switched on, the coating redirects the light, and its screen becomes clearly visible through the glass. Dielectric Mirror is ideal for any application in homes or businesses where state-of-the-art hidden televisions, commercial displays or projection screens are needed. The product is available in two versions:• DM 60/40 reflects more than 57% of light and allows 41% light transmission, making it ideal for applications when it is mostly used as a mirror; • DM 30/70, on the other hand, reflects roughly 29% of light and allows 69% of light transmission when the display behind it is switched on, making it the optimal solution for when the TV or display function is a key aspect of the design. Made using Guardian's advanced sputter coating technology, Dielectric Mirror reduces the distractions caused by high absorption in typical high-reflective glass products, and also succeeds in removing the excessive dark aspect so familiar in many of these glass applications, thereby providing a distinct commercial advantage. "These features address some of the most common complaints typically associated with such products," said Steven Scrivens, Marketing Manager at Guardian Industries UK. "For example, similar products have been known to display a colour shift once the light reflection level exceeds 45%, or for the mirror to display an undesirable residual colour even when the display is switched off. That is not the case with Guardian Dielectric Mirror." The product is available in 4mm and 6mm thicknesses from Jumbo (3, 21 x 6 meter) to cut sizes, and on standard clear, Guardian UltraClear (low-iron) or LamiClear glass. It also can be tempered and processed into laminated safety glass. Guardian first introduced Dielectric Mirror at the Glasstec show in Düsseldorf, Germany, last year, and is now officially rolling it out in the UK and Ireland. Made at Guardian's plant in Hungary, the Dielectric Mirror product now will be stocked and available from the firm's Goole, England plant.
