| WEF award for Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park project film A film of Singapore's Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park project, which was undertaken by Atelier Dreiseitl, has been announced as a winner in the 2015 StormTV competition by the US-based Water Environment Federation (WEF). The competition attracted 150 video entries highlighting the sector's most inventive stormwater programmes, practices, products, and public outreach efforts. The award, which was received in the 'Programs and Projects' category, will be presented at the 2015 WEFTEC Stormwater Congress taking place in Chicago this autumn. The project involved redesigning 62 hectares of parkland in the heart of Singapore to make room for nature and new recreational spaces. A utilitarian concrete water channel has been transformed into a 3.2km naturalised river that functions as an effective water drainage system and a vibrant attraction for local communities. Dieter Grau, Managing Director of Atelier Dreiseitl, comments, "We are delighted to have received this important recognition from WEF, which is a well-respected global water industry body. It demonstrates the high level capabilities and innovative solutions that we provide in this area and will help us to showcase our expertise in the US market and beyond." The project has previously received seven high profile accolades including the Singapore President's Design Award and World Architecture Festival Landscape of the Year. write your comments about the article :: © 2015 Construction News :: home page |
