| ECE takes over the management for “Waterfront” shopping center in Bremen As of now, ECE will take over the management of "Waterfront" shopping center in Bremen. On a sales area of approx. 44,000 m², Waterfront houses 120 shops, restaurants, and service providers. It is one of the largest and most popular centers in the region. Its anchor tenants include Media Markt, TK Maxx, C&A, Intersport, H&M, a Müller drug store, Deichmann, Snipes, and Tommy Hilfiger as well as the Irish clothing retailer Primark, which opened its first outlet in Germany here at Waterfront. Opened in 2008, the shopping center boasts a footfall of more than 8 million visitors per year. ECE's management takeover follows the acquisition of "Waterfront" by the Danish pension fund ATP from its former owners LNC Property and Resolution Real Estate Advisors for 212 million Euros. ECE / the Otto Family hold a minority share of 5%. "We are delighted to add a new pearl to our shopping center portfolio, " says Joanna Fisher, Managing Director of the Center Management Division at ECE. "Taking over the management for Waterfront means taking over the management of a successful center with an attractive tenant mix in an outstanding location. We are convinced that we will continue its success and that we will develop the center further together with the investor and the tenants." Besides a wide range of diverse brands and concepts, Waterfront also comprises a 3D Multiplex Cinema with 11 halls and a modern food court with approximately 20 different food concepts, which is overlooking the banks of the River Weser. The one-kilometer promenade of the Weser running close to the center underlines its unique location and offers visitors a variety of leisure and sports opportunities and seating options. Waterfront is located approximately six kilometers away from downtown Bremen and can be reached conveniently by car, bus, and tram as well as by boat. About 4,000 parking spaces are available to visitors. ATP, the new owner of Waterfront in Bremen, is Denmark's largest Pension and social-security services company and ranks among Europe's largest pension companies. It is ATP's first investment in a German shopping center. ATP is already one of the investors of the ECE European Prime Shopping Center Funds and had already collaborated with the fund by investing jointly in Rosengårdcentret in the Danish city of Odense. write your comments about the article :: © 2015 Construction News :: home page |
