| Pöyry opens hydropower engineering and consulting office in Santiago, Chile Pöyry is the latest internationally renowned engineering company to open an office in Santiago, Chile, with a strong heritage in the country. Many will be familiar with the Electrowatt Engineering brand. Pöyry joined forces with Electrowatt Engineering in the 1990s and helped Pöyry broaden our strong references into a variety of sectors. Pöyry's office, at Coronel Pereira 62, office 404, Las Condes opens with 3 employees and is expected to grow to support the burgeoning hydropower and renewable energy industry in Chile. Patrick Furrer, Country Manager for Hydropower and Renewable Energy at Pöyry Chile will oversee the Santiago office. The office will act as the local hub for Pöyry's global Hydropower and Renewable Energy business in Chile, but also for other Pöyry divisions such as Thermal Energy, Mining & Metals and Pulp & Paper. Employees Leonardo Aburto, Project Engineer, and Angel Arancibia, Business Developer, will be in charge of managing regional projects. Pöyry operates in Latin America with around 800 employees distributed in offices in Brazil, Peru, México and Chile.
