| Engineering News-Record names Balfour Beatty US Southeast Contractor of the Year Balfour Beatty US has been named Southeast Contractor of the Year by Engineering News-Record (ENR), the preeminent magazine for the construction industry. The recognition is based on the combined performance of Balfour Beatty's U.S. business units in the Southeast region, including Balfour Beatty Construction Services US, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure and Balfour Beatty Investments. ENR recently recognized Balfour Beatty with an announcement on its website. ENR's Southeast Contractor of the Year recipients are selected by a national group of ENR editors who review multiple firms' accomplishments related to regional business growth, major contracts and other notable accomplishments during the previous year. Balfour Beatty Construction has a Southeast region presence with projects currently in progress in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina. The company's work has been highlighted multiple times over the past year in various industry publications and award competitions. In 2014, Balfour Beatty was recognized with 11 Southeast region awards for construction excellence, including seven Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) Eagle awards, one of the highest honors in the industry. Notable recent projects in the region include the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida; Buckhead Atlanta, a mixed use development in Atlanta which was selected as the Urban Land Institute (ULI) of Georgia's Project of the Year; and Red Hat's new Global Headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, a finalist for ABC of the Carolinas Project of the Year. Current projects underway include the I-140 Wilmington Bypass project, and 300 South Tryon, Spectrum Properties' 25-story office tower in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina.
