| Flying high Stannah announced a prestigious maintenance contract win in the heart of London. Stannah has been awarded the maintenance contract for the lifts to the Emirates Air Line, the cable car link across the River Thames from the Greenwich Peninsula and O2 Centre to the Royal Docks and ExCel exhibition centre. Stannah will service and maintain the four scenic passenger lifts that take cable car riders to and from the raised launch platforms. This unique transport link and visitor attraction opened in June 2012, in time for the London 2012 Olympic Games. It is operated by Transport for London. Passengers are afforded spectacular views of the city from 90 metres above the Thames as they travel one kilometre in mid-air. To arrive on either side of the Emirates Air Line, you may first travel on the Docklands Light Railway, where all the lifts are also maintained by our Stannah Dartford service branch, covering London and the South East, for Keolis Amey Docklands and CGL Rail. write your comments about the article :: © 2015 Construction News :: home page |
