| Top Finnish building experts acknowledged  Tapio Aho and Max Levander have provided key expertise for landmark projects such as Helsinki Central Library and the new Children's Hospital in Helsinki. Now they have been recognised for their stellar efforts.Two of Ramboll's top building professionals have received national accolades for their expertise. Design Manager Tapio Aho, a senior expert in structural engineering, was nominated as Civil Engineer of the Year 2015. The prize was granted by RIL (the Finnish Association of Civil Engineers) on April 17. Less than a week later, SKOL (the Finnish Association of Consulting Firms) nominated Max Levander as Young Consultant of the Year 2015. Well-known in Finland and abroad Tapio Aho has more than 30 years of experience from demanding structural design specialist and management positions. He is a well-known expert in Finland and internationally. Currently his expertise is being utilised on top Finnish construction projects such as Helsinki Central Library, Pasila Tripla and the new Children's Hospital in Helsinki. Helsinki Central Library is structurally one of the most demanding projects carried out in Finland. - Building Information Modeling (BIM) is one of the biggest development steps made in structural engineering in recent years. For example, it would not have been possible to execute a project like Helsinki Central Library without BIM and advanced digital computing tools, Tapio Aho explains. Max Levander is specialised in BIM. Despite his young age, he has led a BIM team of six experts in Espoo, Finland, since last year. Max has been responsible for the BIM design on all major Finnish building projects, including the Helsinki Central Library and the new Children's Hospital. - The success of a construction project is determined by how well people involved in it communicate with each other.
