| Doka takes an Oscar Ahead of the awards for the best movies of the year just ended, trade and industry has staged a prestigious awards ceremony of its own. The US Business Oscar is awarded for outstanding achievement by companies active in the US market. This year, the coveted prize in the "Spectacular" category was carried back to Austria by the Doka Group. New York's 432 Park Avenue Tower, at 426 meters the highest residential building in the western hemisphere; a tunnel more than 1.1 km long underneath the Elizabeth River; the reconstruction of the World Trade Center and the highest bridge in Virginia: only some ongoing construction projects in the US where the Doka Group is contributing products and services made in Austria. High-performance formwork systems with automatic climbing technology for challenging high-rise builds, made-to-measure free cantilever travellers for bridge-building and innovative tunnel formwork all figure largely in the extensive competence portfolio of the family-owned company from Austria. With expertise amassed in decades of industry experience and its path-breaking formwork solutions, the Doka Group now does business in more than 70 countries around the globe. The US market is generally considered the most challenging in the world. Make a name for yourself here with exceptional ideas, outstanding commitment and innovations, and you can qualify for an accolade from the Foreign Trade Center in Los Angeles. The US Business Oscars are awarded in five separate categories. This year's prize in the "Spectacular" category went to the formwork experts from Austria. USABizAward for outstanding performance The Austrian Foreign Trade Center Los Angeles presents the USABizAward, the "Business Oscar", as it is also known, for outstanding achievement by Austrian companies on the US market. "The nominee companies for the Business Oscar underscore the competitiveness of Austrian business in the world's most challenging and most keenly competitive market" asserts Rudolf Thaler, Austria's economic delegate in Los Angeles. This is the fifth year in succession that the Business Oscars have been awarded. Successful market penetration and development Skyscrapers soar higher and higher, and the Doka Group's US business has also been developing steadily upward over recent years. It's a success story that dates back to the mid-1990s. "Our entry into the US market almost 20 years ago was a key part of our strategy of international expansion and the right decision to take. That's proved by the increasing demand for our products and services and the continuing growth rates. The construction industry in the USA has recovered perceptibly and the outlook continues positive. We can extract above-average benefit from investment in the construction sector and the 2014 increase in turnover on the US market is a good two-figure entry", as Dr. Andreas J. Ludwig, Executive Officer Doka Group Engineering & Production, is pleased to report. write your comments about the article :: © 2015 Construction News :: home page |
