| Minister for Education & Skills turns sod on County Clare Secondary School  The Minister for Education & Skills, Jan O'Sullivan TD, turned the sod on St Joseph's Secondary School in Tulla, Co Clare. The new school will provide state of the art educational facilities for 650 students.The new school, due to be completed in March 2016, will provide 26 specialist classrooms, 10 general classrooms and a physical education hall. The school will be located on Church Road in Tulla and is part of Schools Bundle 4, the Government's PPP Programme which will provide 3,000 new school places. BAM was awarded the public private partnership (PPP) contract by the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA), acting as the procuring agent for the Department of Education and Skills. This €20 million project will create 150 construction jobs and involves the design, construction, finance and maintenance of the school over a 25 year period. Speaking about the project, Theo Cullinane, Chief Executive BAM Contractors, said: 'BAM is delighted to commence construction on St Joseph's Secondary School as part of the Schools Bundle 4 programme. We are pleased to once again partner with the Department of Education and Skills and the NDFA. This state of the art school will add to Ireland's educational infrastructure and BAM will deliver a school of the highest quality for students and staff.'
