Michael Baker International/AMEC team awarded multi-year National Park Service contract

The National Park Service recently awarded a five-year, $50 million contract to the Michael Baker International/AMEC team to provide technical environmental support services for the National Park Service's Park Facility Management Division and Environmental Management Systems Program. The contract includes all seven regions of the National Park Service.

The Michael Baker International/AMEC team was one of two teams selected for the contract out of 15 teams under consideration.

This contract's primary focus is the Environmental Management Systems program, which is the cornerstone for environmentally sound and sustainable operations at all properties operated by the National Park Service. Sustainability is supported by new technologies and practices, allowing the National Park Service to improve the visitor experience while reducing their carbon footprint and setting the standard for federally managed properties.

Michael Baker International has worked extensively in the National Park Service's Inter-Mountain Region, providing environmental services associated with hazardous materials, land development, tanks, asbestos, and lead paint. With this new contract, the company now has a contract to address similar issues at National Park Service properties across the nation.
