| CertainTeed announced nationwide availability of Patriot roofing shingle  After an overwhelmingly positive response to a limited introduction last year, CertainTeed Corporation has expanded availability nationwide for its Patriot metric asphalt roofing shingle. Patriot combines intricate color blend drops with intermittent shadow lines to offer the rich, aesthetic appeal that homeowners look for in designer shingles. For contractors and builders, the shingle offers an easy-to-install roofing solution that is ideal for projects where attractive products are called for at an economical price. "We knew we had a winner after conducting a successful soft launch of Patriot last year in the Midwest, and we are excited to expand production in order to fulfill emergent national demand," said Bob Gardiner, vice president of marketing for CertainTeed Roofing. "Patriot is a strong choice for building professionals because it lets them smartly manage their exterior product budget while also 'wowing' customers with a distinct contemporary style." Patriot is offered in a six-color palette that includes Shadow Black, Weathered Wood, Driftwood, Colonial Slate, Graystone and Prairie Wood, and its practical construction makes the shingle ideal for both residential and commercial steep-slope applications. Backed by a 30-year limited transferable warranty against manufacturing defects, Patriot also includes a 10-year, 110-mile per hour wind-resistance warranty. In addition, 8-year SureStart protection covers 100 percent of replacement and labor costs due to the unlikely event of a manufacturing defect. All Patriot shingles feature algae resistance and 10-year StreakFighter coverage, for protection against staining or discoloration caused by airborne algae growth.
