Bayer demonstrates confidence in Bilfinger: Maintenance contract valued at €40 million extended

The engineering and services group Bilfinger has extended a maintenance contract for industrial facilities with longstanding client Bayer CropScience. The two companies are thus continuing the cooperation that has been in place since 2009 at the Frankfurt location for the next three years. Total order volume amounts to over €40 million. An option for an additional two years has also been agreed.

Bayer CropScience is a world leader in the production of seeds as well as crop protection and pest control products. In Frankfurt, the company also operates research facilities for agricultural products and renewable energy sources. Bilfinger is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the facilities. This also includes building modifications, manufacturing and assembly of components as well as regular inspections of the production facilities.

The engineering and services group Bilfinger is one of the largest European providers of industrial services. In the current financial year, the company anticipates an output volume of approximately €3.7 billion in this business segment. About 80 percent of that total will be generated on international markets. In addition to Germany, core areas of activity are other European countries and the United States.
