Arcadis awarded PCM contract for USA’s first high-speed rail system

Arcadis (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the leading natural and built asset design and consultancy firm has been awarded the Project and Construction Management (PCM) services for a segment of the United States' first high-speed rail system. As the top-ranked PCM firm, Arcadis will support the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) with design and construction oversight of a section of the California high-speed rail system, which will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands.

Arcadis could receive up to $71.86 million based on actual work performed over a period of approximately five years. Arcadis will provide oversight and management of contractors designing and building portions of the 65-mile segment between Fresno and the Tulare-Kern County line.

Arcadis has managed some of California's largest public works projects and brings extensive design-build oversight experience as well as global high-speed rail expertise to help deliver the project on schedule, within budget and with positive outcomes for the local community, economy and environment. The firm has also achieved the Authority's goal of 30 percent small business participation, more than half of which are located in the Central Valley.

California's high-speed rail system will connect Los Angeles and San Francisco in about two hours and 40 minutes. The $68 billion system is expected to be completed by 2029.
