Transport for London has awarded the consortium comprising Amey, a subsidiary of Ferrovial Services, and French company Keolis the contract to operate and maintain Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in east London for six and a half years. The contract is worth 700 million pounds (around 879 million euro). Amey has a 30% stake in the consortium.

Amey and Keolis will manage train and passenger services throughout the network, and maintain 34 kilometres of infrastructure, 45 stations, 149 wagons and other rolling stock. The contract runs from December 2014 to 2021, with the possibility of an extension.

The DLR, which was inaugurated in 1987, serves the Docklands zone in east London and connects London City Airport and Canary Wharf, the financial district, with the city centre. A total of 100 million passengers used the DLR between 2012 and 2013.
