| Ferrovial to build one of Riyadh’s new access roads  A consortium including Ferrovial Agroman has been awarded the contract to build one of the new access roads to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The segment, worth 145 million euro, is 10 kilometres long, including a central section and a frontage road.Ferrovial, through its construction subsidiary Ferrovial Agroman in a 50:50 consortium with local company Al Fahd Contracting, has been chosen by the ArRiyadh Development Authority (ADA) to build section 2 of the new access road to Riyadh by upgrading Abi Bakr As Siddiq road to international motorway standards. The contract, worth 726.2 million Saudi rials (around 145 million euro), includes the construction of 10 kilometres of motorway, a central section with three lanes each way to motorway standards, and a frontage road on each side with at grade intersections. The contract is part of the local authorities' investment programme to change the city's image and transform urban mobility. The project includes the construction of three interchanges using viaducts with spans of up to 80 metres. The entire route will be equipped with traffic control systems that will limit speed and regulate the central section's service level.
