| Systra appoints Tim O’Neill as Chief Executive Officer for Systra Ltd Systra Group, a global leader in public transportation engineering infrastructures has appointed Tim O'Neill as its new Chief Executive Officer for the United Kingdom and Ireland. This nomination is a step forwards in the development of the Group in the UK where significant rail related projects are underway. Systra has made the logical decision to invest in engineering as well as in consultancy capabilities. Tim O’Neill started his career in design to move then into project management, focused on the UK Rail industry. His first rail project was an integrated control system for Newcastle Metro and i n 1994 he joined London Underground as Supervising Engineer on the Jubilee Line Extension project and later worked with Alstom as a Senior Project Manager on the West Coast Main Line ERTMS project. Tim joined Atkins in 2004 as a Director of Rail Projects focused on the delivery of communications and signaling systems mainly for London Underground and Network Rail. His last role with Atkins was Managing Director of Rail Communication Systems Business providing design and build services to Network Rail, Transport for London and Heathrow Airport.
